60 years ago the pill rewrote the future for women, yet it is so easy to forget this and under appreciate our pill. Women In Control is a campaign consisting of many elements, all of which aim to encourage women to celebrate their pill as a symbol of control, power and choice.
My Major Project uses the current possibility of the pill being sold over the counter, to ground the packaging outcomes and make it more relatable for the modern day woman. The sticker element even allows women to take ownership over their pill packaging - reinforcing the overall message of control and how the contraceptive pill allows women to exercise this. In addition to the packaging, the project features a friendly Instagram presence where women can come together and show gratitude for their pill. The outcomes work to educate, hero and grow a community of women that love their pill and the benefits it comes with, whilst breaking the codes and conventions as a technique to change existing negative views.
