Pandora's Star is written by Britain's bestselling science fiction author Peter F. Hamilton. Within the novel, humanity has colonised over six hundred planets that are all interlinked by wormholes. These wormholes are known as ‘gateways’ and are utilised as methods of transportation.
To my amazement, none of Hamilton’s award-winning space operas have ever been adapted for the big screen. This presented me with a golden opportunity to showcase his most notable piece of work; Pandora’s Star.
The premise of title design is to draw the audience’s attention in and to set the tone for the rest of the show. I matched the frequencies of the soundtrack to the geometry of my ethereal visualisation of the gateways. This creates a dramatic opening sequence tailored to my target audience of Peter F. Hamilton’s loyal cult following and science fiction lovers aged 16+.
