The Archive Under Block is a project celebrating Silesian architecture created between 1950-1989 during the communist era in Poland. Bad history has caused society to reject, abandon or demolish most of these brutalist buildings.
The project aims to present the real artistic and cultural values of Silesian architecture, by showing how it has changed over the decades. The designed website presents not only catalogued photos of architecture, but also community memories and history - which build the Silesian urban space.
The principal idea of The Archive Under Block is to emphasize the value of passing, not forgetting.
